Sam Trainor

Manager

Sam has been instrumental in the development of RSDP since early 2019 when various pilot activities were delivered. Her industry insight and racing knowledge have been pivotal in enhancing the programme and widening its reach.

Sam’s entire working life has been spent in the horseracing industry. Graduating from Bishop Burton College with a diploma in Equine Business Management, Sam pursued her interest in the racing industry initially through employment with dual-purpose trainer, Micky Hammond. During this period, she achieved a Level 3 in Racehorse Care and Management.

Promotion beckoned and Sam relocated the short distance across Middleham town to the powerful stables of Johnston Racing and the role of Assistant Manager, a position which further developed her skills in communication and leadership.

In 2012 Sam joined the National Horseracing College as a Roving Tutor, a role which she continues in to this day. Wearing her National Horseracing College hat, Sam mentors and tutor’s learners on apprenticeship programmes in the workplace.

Sam has an absolute passion for taking training to those in the workplace and supporting employers with horsemanship and rider development training.
